About Pippa Fairhead
Pippa has a Counselling Diploma and a UKATA Diploma in Transactional Analysis Practice. She is in also in advanced Psychotherapy Training.
She is a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), UKATA (UK Association for Transactional Analysis), and IARTA (International Association for Relational Transactional Analysis).
She has four years experience working as a counsellor and psychotherapist and worked in media, fashion, education, the financial and voluntary sector.
Pippa's main approach is Transactional Analysis, she also works relationally. This means that what happens between the client and therapist is important and useful, and when attended to can bring about change.
She works with each person as an individual with empathy and understanding. It is important for her to understand how a person has come to where they are and how they experience their lives. She is supportive, non-judgemental and challenging in a way that is appropriate and fitting for each person.

Substance Misuse including Alcohol
Pippa gained a wealth of experience supporting people who have substance misuse issues and those who care for people with substance misuse issues. She works to facilitate understanding and self-compassion for the underlying issues which often lie in childhood difficulties or more recent traumas.
Pippa has worked over a period of years with clients with chronic or long-term debilitating health conditions. She has worked with clients with a variety of conditions including cancer, colitis, back conditions, fibromyalgia, and diabetes.
Managing Anger and Strong Feelings
Pippa works confidently with clients who are struggling with strong feelings, e.g anger, grief, frustration, disappointment, and loss. Sometimes it is hard to contain and manage strong feelings, these can burst out surprising and hurting ourselves or others, or they can take over feeling like there's nothing else.
She is committed to her professional and personal development. She has fortnightly supervision and undertakes continued professional development regularly to ensure she is well equipped and supporting clients as best as possible.
