At times life can be difficult. Sometimes it may feel like life isn’t moving forward and you keep repeating the same old patterns and nothing changes. You may be dwelling on the past or worried about the present or the future. You may just be in a place of general unhappiness where you just don’t know what to do.
In developing a better understanding of ourselves, increasing our awareness, and learning about how we operate as people we are able to make fresh choices, see new perspectives, change things, move forward and find our full potential. I believe in peoples capacity to thrive when they are given the right conditions to do so.
Leon’s counselling and therapy training has taught him the Integrative approach to working with people. This enables him to draw from many therapeutic approaches such as Humanistic, Psychodynamic, CBT, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and 12 step recovery philosophy so together you can find a way of working that meets your individual requirements. In practice the approaches Leon may offer to you emerges as he begins to work with you. As Leon works in an integrative way no one approach emerges in isolation but rather there is a unique blend that meets your needs as issues arise. This is all guided by you though.
Although being trained in many Counselling and Psychotherapy approaches Leon believes, and as research has demonstrated that it is the therapeutic relationship established between therapist and client that has the most beneficial influence within therapy rather than theoretical knowledge or technique. It’s not always easy finding someone to share your difficulties with: Leon’s practice as a person and as a Counsellor is inspired by an open-minded, empathic, non-judgmental and genuine approach. Leon offers this in a warm environment which is a confidential, supportive and safe space for you to use as you choose.
It is through Leon’s personal life experiences and training that has given him the opportunity to work with, and become understanding towards many life issues. Leon has many life concerns that he is trained in and has a special interest in such as, All Addictions, Depression, Anxiety & other mental health concerns, Suicidal thoughts, Self-harm, Anger issues, Loss and Bereavement, Abuse (emotional, mental, physical, sexual, spiritual), Family and Marriage/Relationship issues, Childhood issues, and Trauma.
