Her experience includes working with CAMHS clients, providing psychotherapy to young people according to their unique emotional needs. She currently works in a complex care and eating disorders hospital for children and young people in London, alongside running her private practice in East Sussex.
Anxiety and Self esteem
The lives of children and young people are increasingly complex and demanding, and this can sometimes take a toll on their mental health. There may be challenges at school or at home, with academic study or in their close relationships. In particular, many children find they are struggling with high levels of worry and low self-esteem, and this can impact on how they enjoy life, as well as affecting levels of success in areas that matter to that child.
In therapy sessions, Sally will notice what is going on for a child, either through their play or in words if they are able to express themselves. She can then help them to process difficult feelings and challenge unhelpful thoughts, as well as offering strategies to help them cope more effectively with the world around them.
Eating disorders
Sally understands how debilitating and lonely eating disorders can be, and she offers specialist support and treatment towards recovery and a more fulfilling life. She is gentle and empathetic, and takes the time to understand each individual’s illness and presentation. She supports her clients with care and sensitivity towards recovery.
Sally has gained specialist skills and experience in her role as a psychotherapist in an eating disorders inpatient unit in London. She has also undertaken considerable eating disorders training to inform and support her work, including obtaining a diploma from the National Centre for Eating Disorders. She works with anorexia nervosa, ARFID, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder and OSFED, although a formal diagnosis is not required.
