Training

Charlotte has a postgraduate diploma in Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counselling from Brighton University and is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She attends regular ongoing professional development training including recent training in trauma, suicide, autism spectrum conditions, creative therapies and relationships.

Charlotte has experience counselling for a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, bereavement and loss, living with long term health issues, social anxiety, anger issues and transitioning to parenthood. She has worked for both East Sussex NHS Trust and Brighton NHS Trust offering counselling and support to parents of young children and parents-to-be, around postnatal anxiety and depression, traumatic childbirth, miscarriage and identity issues. She understands the personal and relational challenges that family life can bring.

Charlotte also works for a local low cost counselling service and in partnership with Bungards Funeral Directors, offering bereavement support to their clients.

Approach

Charlotte draws on Person Centred, Existential and Gestalt approaches. In practice this means that she offers a warm and supportive environment to explore what brings you to counselling, what changes you would like to see and your unique way of experiencing the world. She believes that in today’s busy and often disconnected world, counselling offers the space to be truly heard, to explore what matters to you and to deepen your connection with yourself and others. Charlotte believes that change comes through greater self-awareness, human connection and self-acceptance.

Other information

Charlotte believes that finding the right counsellor for you is important which is why she offers an initial exploratory session for £20 so that you can meet her and decide whether counselling with her feels right for you. After the initial session, ongoing sessions are charged at £40.
